Dr. Liapis is currently a senior consultant, having served as a renal pathologist at Arkana since 2014. She joined us following 20 years at Washington University School of Medicine, where she served as Professor of Pathology and Immunology, Professor of Internal Medicine (Nephrology), and Section Head of Renal Pathology. She was Co-Director of the Clinical Electron Microscopy Laboratory as well as the Washington University Kidney Translational Research Core, O’Brian Kidney Center. Dr. Liapis was the President of the Renal Pathology Society in 2014. Her current appointments include associate editor of Clinical Kidney Journal (CKJ) and BMC Nephrology, the ASN postgraduate education committee (PGE) (2013-2017), Banff transplant pathology leadership and the CUREGN consortium pediatric renal pathology consultant. She is widely published in renal pathology having authored more than 130 peer-reviewed journal publications and numerous textbook chapters. She continues her research and teaching nationally and internationally. She was board certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology in 1990.
