Dr. Khuansuwan joined Arkana Laboratories in May 2018 to oversee the Zebrafish Research Program. Dr. Khuansuwan has over a decade of research experience using zebrafish as a model system for vertebrate development and human neurological disease. She earned her doctorate degree in Biological Sciences from Vanderbilt University in 2014 while working to elucidate transcription factor networks in the developing zebrafish brain. After receiving her Ph.D., Dr. Khuansuwan became a post-doctoral scholar at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in the Department of Neurology. At UCLA, she developed zebrafish models for Parkinson disease and neuronal autophagy.
Through her work, Dr. Khuansuwan has gained expertise in various techniques such as molecular biology, high-resolution microscopy, RNA sequencing, toxicology, and genetics. Her research has been published in well-respected journals.
Dr. Khuansuwan is a member of the Zebrafish Disease Models Society and the International Zebrafish Society.
