Arkana’s 2024 ASCP Medical Laboratory Professionals Week was absolutely “Barbie-licious” as our lab team embraced this iconic theme with style and enthusiasm. The week kicked off with Monday’s Barbie and Ken Day, where pink and blonde reigned supreme, followed by Tuesday’s Denim Day that had everyone looking effortlessly cool. Wednesday brought the fun with Crazy Eyebrow Day, creating some truly “brow-raising” looks that had the entire team laughing, while Thursday’s Y2K Day transported everyone back to the millennium with nostalgic fashion choices. Friday’s Sports Day rounded out the themed celebrations with athletic spirit and team pride on full display.
Beyond the fabulous fashion shows, our lab professionals proved they’re not just “picture perfect” in their daily work—they’re also incredibly talented artists who showcased their creativity in a stunning lab art gallery featuring their personal artworks. The festivities continued with strikes and spares at Professor Bowl, competitive bingo games with coveted company swag prizes, and delicious meals including Chick-Fil-A lunch and a delightful popcorn and pizza feast.
While the Barbie theme brought plenty of glamour and fun to the week, the true purpose remained crystal clear: celebrating the exceptional lab professionals who serve as the critical first step in patient care. These dedicated team members work behind the scenes with precision and expertise, making them the real-life heroes who ensure quality diagnostics—and that’s no plastic fantastic, that’s the real deal.
